Oakley is bringing its Meta HSTN AI glasses to India, marking the arrival of a new category of performance-driven AI eyewear. The range goes on pre-sale today via Sunglass Hut and will be available nationwide from December 1 at Sunglass Hut stores and other major eyewear retailers. Starting at Rs 41,800, the Meta HSTN series blends Oakley’s sport-focused design with Meta’s intelligence layer baked directly into the frame.

At the heart of the HSTN experience is hands-free functionality. The sunglasses feature an integrated camera capable of capturing high-resolution 3K video, open-ear speakers for audio cues, and IPX4 water resistance for outdoor or workout-heavy use. The battery promises up to eight hours of continuous operation, nineteen hours on standby, and an additional forty-eight hours through the bundled charging case. This combination positions the glasses as more than a fitness accessory: they are a genuine on-the-go content and performance tool.

Meta AI is built directly into the glasses, offering instant, voice-led assistance for tasks ranging from checking surf conditions to analysing wind direction before a golf swing. The idea is to remove friction during high-intensity moments and give users real-time insights without reaching for their phone. A simple “Hey Meta” wakes the assistant, enabling everything from hands-free recording to quick information requests.

Crucially for the Indian market, Meta AI on the HSTN glasses now supports full Hindi interaction. Users can switch to Hindi within the Meta AI app’s device settings, enabling voice commands, content capture, calls and media control entirely in the language. The feature is powered by Sarvam’s language tools, expanding the glasses’ appeal to a wider audience across the country.

Meta is also rolling out Celebrity AI Voice on the glasses. One of the first voices available for English users is Deepika Padukone, joining a growing global roster of familiar, expressive options that give the assistant more personality.

Another India-first experiment is underway: UPI Lite payments directly through the glasses. Soon, wearers will be able to look at a QR code and say, “Hey Meta, scan and pay” to complete a transaction. Linked to the user’s WhatsApp-connected bank account, the feature is designed to make everyday payments faster and completely hands-free.

Oakley Meta HSTN will be available in six frame and lens combinations, all Rx-ready: Warm Grey with PRIZM Ruby, Black with PRIZM Polar Black, Brown Smoke with PRIZM Polar Deep Water, Black with Transitions Amethyst, Clear with Transitions Grey, and Black with Clear lenses.
