Marvel’s Wolverine confirmed for Fall 2026 launch on PS5, gets gameplay trailer

Confirmed intel of the long-awaited Marvel’s Wolverine is finally out and straight from the horse’s mouth this time. Developer Insomniac Games (maker of Marvel’s Spider-Man series of games) has finally dropped a violence-and-gore-heavy gameplay trailer for its upcoming Marvel superhero RPG, with a Fall 2026 release timeline. The gameplay trailer of Insomniac’s PS5-exclusive title was revealed at Sony’s State of Play 2025.

The action-packed trailer pulls no punches when it comes to showing Wolverine’s Berserker rage. Throughout the Wolverine gameplay trailer, Logan’s adamantium-laced claws that can cut through several feet-thick reinforced concrete walls like butter seem to be in overdrive as they chop off limbs, tear out chests, pop through skulls and rip off faces within the blink of an eye. In several battles, he wears his X-Men costume; in others, he does not. What is common is the signature rage and pain that find a way to come out as “violent tendencies” (author Marc Cerasini actually wrote a Wolverine novel with that title).

The story of Marvel’s Wolverine will take our beer-loving Canadian mutant from the wilds of Canada to Tokyo and the fictional Madripoor. Actor Liam McIntyre (JD Fenix from Gears) plays Logan/Wolverine in the Marvel action game.

The Wolverine gameplay trailer showcases several Marvel villains that Logan will go up against, including Omega Red, The Reavers, and even a Sentinel. The shapeshifting mutant Mystique is also seen in the trailer.

Fueled by unflinching resilience (and a rapid healing factor), Wolverine won’t go down easy if it means keeping the mission on task,” said Aaron Jason Espinoza, Senior Community Manager, Insomniac Games, in a PlayStation Blog post.

Insomniac has confirmed that more Wolverine content is coming our way in the spring of 2026.
