Lenovo has been introducing various innovative PC machines in the last few years. Now, the Chinese company has showcased a prototype laptop with an automatic hinge that can move and rotate the display by following voice commands. Dubbed an Auto Twist AI PC, this laptop features a motorized hinge that responds to voice commands and automatically rotates its display to follow the user’s voice commands.
The point of this display is to always face you, no matter where you are in the room, and it’s particularly useful for users who do frequent video calls. It has three modes, which can close the laptop, work as a normal laptop, or have a tablet mode. Users can speak a simple voice command, and within seconds, the laptop adjusts itself, although the motors take about 10-15 seconds to complete the desired transformation.
The ‘follow me’ feature of this is powered by facial recognition technology and the laptop’s display with the integrated web camera rotates accordingly to face users, ensuring that they are always in the focus during video calls. It has support for 360-degree display rotation, which means that the laptop can be used for accessing all sides of a room.
Lenovo also showcased some of its abilities with a demo video, where a user while using custom commands, such as “Hi Twist, close lid” or “Hi Twist, tablet mode,” can easily get the laptop to execute that particular action without putting a finger on it.
