Lenovo has launched a new Chromebook in India, and it comes with something no other Chromebook has offered so far, Dolby Atmos sound. The new device is called the Lenovo Chromebook Plus and it’s the first Chromebook in the world to feature Dolby’s popular surround sound tech.
The idea is simple: better sound for the things you do every day, whether that’s watching a movie, listening to music, or taking a video call. With Dolby Atmos, audio doesn’t just play through the speakers — it feels more layered and detailed, especially when using headphones.
The Chromebook itself comes with a 14-inch display and runs on Google’s ChromeOS. While Lenovo hasn’t revealed the full list of specs yet, this model is part of the “Plus” range, which usually includes slightly better features than standard Chromebooks — things like smoother performance and better battery life.
The focus with this launch is clearly on audio. Lenovo, Dolby, and Google are working together to bring what they call a more “immersive” sound experience to budget-friendly laptops. That means you don’t need to spend a lot to get decent sound, at least in theory.
There’s no official price tag for the Lenovo Chromebook Plus (14”, 10) yet, but it’s expected to launch in India soon. It will likely be available on Lenovo’s website and through retail partners.
This Chromebook is aimed at everyday users such as students, people working from home, or anyone looking for a simple laptop that’s easy to use and sounds better than the average machine.
If you use your laptop a lot for watching videos or listening to music, and you don’t want to buy extra speakers or headphones, this one might be worth keeping an eye on. More details, including price and availability, are expected in the coming days.
