Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series will launch this year and is likely to come with big upgrades over its predecessor smartphones. Though the company has yet to announce the actual release date, some solid leaks are providing a sneak peek at what’s to expect, and the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to introduce a major design overhaul.
iPhone 17 Pro Max to come with a redesigned back panel: Key details
Departing from the familiar square module or separate lens cutouts seen in earlier models, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to sport a wide camera bar that spans the entire top section of the back of the phone. As revealed by X user pipfix (@lusiRoy8), who shared a photo of the dummy unit of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, shows the dummy unit in a blue colour shade.
We can also see a prominent new camera bump in this image, and the new enlarged camera bar module is also visible with this case design. Reports also indicate that this new camera bar design may not be exclusive to the Pro Max, with the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Air, which is believed to replace the current iPhone 16 Plus, could also sport a similar back design. Interestingly, the regular iPhone 17 is expected to retain a more familiar dual-camera setup, like its predecessors.
Further, previous leaks suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro Max could debut with three 48MP rear cameras, marking the first time all three lenses match in resolution. The device is also tipped to support 8K video recording, and have a 24MP selfie camera.
