Apple may be preparing to launch a larger display on the Apple Watch Ultra 3, according to details uncovered in the latest iOS 26 beta. As spotted by MacRumors, the beta includes an image of an Apple Watch with a resolution of 422 x 514 — higher than the current Ultra 2’s 410 x 502.
This suggests the Ultra 3 will offer a slightly bigger screen, likely achieved by shrinking the bezels while retaining the same case size. So far, no credible leaks point to an increase in overall dimensions.
Apple is expected to unveil the Apple Watch Ultra 3 next month alongside the iPhone 17 lineup and the Series 11 Apple Watch.
Early rumours indicate the Ultra 3 may include satellite connectivity for emergency communication, a new chip, a brighter and faster display, and possibly new health sensors, including blood pressure tracking.
Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch the third-generation Apple Watch Ultra later this year, with major upgrades aimed at health and connectivity. As per a 9to5Mac report citing Bloomberg, the Ultra 3 is expected to introduce high blood pressure detection, satellite-based messaging, and support for 5G RedCap — a low-power cellular standard designed for wearables.
Since its 2023 update, the Apple Watch Ultra has seen few changes beyond the addition of a Black Titanium finish. But the upcoming model could mark a turning point with these functional improvements.
Apple Watch Ultra 3: What's expectedOne of the headline features expected in the Ultra 3 is blood pressure monitoring. However, the watch won’t provide specific systolic or diastolic numbers. Instead, it will issue alerts if it detects signs of hypertension, functioning as an early warning system — much like how the Apple Watch currently flags sleep apnea risks. It’s designed to prompt medical follow-ups rather than replace clinical devices.
More new features, including off-grid messaging and enhanced connectivity, are likely to be revealed when Apple unveils the Watch Ultra 3 alongside the iPhone 17 series later this year.
