GreedFall: The Dying World is the prequel to GreedFall and is set three years before the events of the first game. A deadly disease known as the Malichor is spreading across the continent of Gacane. As the lethal disease starts taking the continent in its grip, a new island full of magic and nature called “Teer Fradee” is discovered. In GreedFall: The Dying World, you will play as a native of this island. After the initiation, you have become a “Doneigad”: a sage who serves the clan. But things take a dramatic turn when “renaigsa” (foreigners) from the Old Continent capture you.

The game’s storyline takes you to the continent of Gacane, where war and politics have been ruling since before the arrival of the deadly plague. As a Teer Fradee native, “you need to regain your freedom and control of your own destiny,” the developers noted. You will try to stop someone powerful because if you don’t, Teer Fradee and the continent of Gacane will be in danger.

In GreedFall: The Dying World, you can get characters to join you as allies. The choices of partnership vary. You can befriend someone, make them your rivals or even love interests. Aside from equipping them with weapons of your own choice, you can also take control of them in battle. You will need help from friends, diplomacy and manipulation skills to navigate a world full of political schemes by the conspiratorial factions.
