Google Chrome is the most used web browser worldwide and the company has always introduced new features working hard to improve its usability. Earlier this year, the company added three AI tools to make browsing easier for its users. Now, the tech giant has announced three new AI features for Chrome, which utilize the latest Google AI and Gemini models.
Google Chrome new AI features: Key detailsIn a new blog post, Google has introduced these new features for its Chrome browser. The first new addition is the Google Lens integration at the Chrome address bar to make search easier. Users will be able to click this new toggle to select any part of their screen and run a visual search on it. It will then open a side panel and users will be able to see relevant visual matches.
This feature is similar to Google’s ‘Circle to Search’ feature which is currently available on select Android smartphones. On the desktop version though you can make a selection and see visual matches and results in the side panel, or even use the multi-search function to further compare the search results. It is currently being rolled out for all Chrome users.
The second new feature introduced by Google is compare. It is essentially a shopping tool that offers an AI-generated overview of products from multiple tabs and shows them on a single page. The information will be shown in a table format for easy comparison. It is initially being rolled out for the USA users.
Finally, Google is also rolling out Smart search history, which will make it easier to search for previously visited websites in a more natural, conversational way with the help of AI. To ensure privacy, this feature will include browsing data from incognito mode as well and users can turn it off from the settings menu. This feature will also be initially available for the US users, with a phased rollout in the coming weeks.
