Dutch technology smartphone brand, Fairphone, has introduced its latest modular smartphone, the Fairphone 6, in select international markets. The phone succeeds the Fairphone 5 and comes with a lighter and more modular design. Further, the company claims that this device has been created ‘from more recycled and fair materials than ever before,’ and introduces sleek, swappable attachable accessories like card holders and finger loops.
Fairphone 6: Price, availability
The Fairphone 6 is priced at EUR 599 (around Rs 59,800). It is currently available for purchase in Cloud White, Forest Green, and Horizon Black colour options. A privacy-focused variant running /e/OS-a deGoogled version of Android-is also available for EUR 649 (around Rs 65,200). It is available for purchase in the UK and other regions in Europe through the Fairphone website.
Fairphone 6: Specifications, features
The Fairphone 6 runs on a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, alongside 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. The onboard storage can be expanded up to 2TB through a microSD card. Further, it boasts a Full-HD+ LTPO p-OLED display measuring 6.31 inches. It offers a pixel density of 431ppi and supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1400 nits.
For optics, the Fairphone 6 has a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C main rear camera with up to 10x digital zoom and OIS support, and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera. At the front, it has a 32MP camera for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, Bluetooth version 5.4, Galileo, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port.
The Fairphone 6 features a removable 4,415mAh lithium-ion battery with 30W wired charging support. It comes with a five-year warranty. Like the previous Fairphone models, the new device focuses on easy repairability and allows users to access and swap 12 different parts of the phone. Further, it runs on Android 15, and the company guarantees at least seven major software updates through 2033.
