Life today moves at a relentless pace, and most people can relate to the constant juggle of work, personal responsibilities, and digital distractions. With packed schedules and limited downtime, keeping the house clean takes a backseat and requires additional support, and this is where Dreame’s new H12 Dual Wet and Dry vacuum cleaner comes in. As the name implies, it is a dual-purpose vacuum cleaner that allows users to both vacuum and mop the house easily. To make the H12 Dual more utility-friendly, Dreame has packed additional accessories in the box, which include Replacement filters, Cleaning solution, Dust Cup assembly, Spare Brush Roller, Crevice Nozzle, extension handle and rod, and also a motorised mini brush.
And, all of this comes at Rs 33,999. That’s a lot of money to ask for a vacuum cleaner, and that too a stick-style cleaner. Whether or not H12 Dual justifies the hefty price tag? How good the cleaning and mopping functions are and should you consider it over other alternatives in the market? All of these questions and more I have tried to answer in the review based on 5 weeks of using the H12 Dual.
Dreame H12 Dual
Dreame H12 Dual vacuum cleaner: Design, accessories and usability
The Dreame H12 Dual is designed to serve as a comprehensive 4-in-1 cleaning solution for homes with varied surface types and cleaning needs. With a sturdy build and an integrated LED screen, the main body supports both wet and dry cleaning and comes equipped with a 300W brushless motor. The vacuum weighs 5.1kg, which strikes a balance between manoeuvrability and a solid presence for deep cleaning.
The H12 Dual’s design includes dual tanks—one for clean water (900mL) and another for used water (700mL)—ensuring that the mopping and vacuuming functions remain hygienically separated. The handle and extension rod are ergonomically crafted for ease of use, whether in upright or handheld mode. Users can switch between Auto and Suction modes for wet and dry vacuuming, or Standard and Turbo modes when using it as a handheld or stick vacuum.
As for accessories, the Dreame H12 Dual comes with a comprehensive set: two storage boxes, a soft roller brush, a motorised mini-brush, a crevice nozzle, and a replacement filter. Additional components like the spare brush roller, cleaning brush, and accessory storage mount add further utility. The dust cup assembly and cleaning solution are also included for a full-feature cleaning cycle.
The detachable area is easy to operate, and adding attachments is a simple one-click solution. The attachments – all of them – fit well and do not feel like they would fall off while using the cleaner. Overall, the accessories included in the box are more than enough for most cleaning and dusting needs. The accessories included work for slimmer areas and corners around the house. Moreover, the motorised mini brush adds to the cleaning necessities by offering a compact solution for cleaning the sofa, carpets, etc. One good thing about the H12 Dual is that it comes with all the accessories included in the box, and nothing needs to be purchased separately. Yes, there will be wear and tear, and Dreame has got you covered with the H12 Dual by offering extras right in the box.
Not only this, the vacuum cleaner also includes features that support day-to-day convenience, such as hot air self-drying and a self-cleaning mechanism. It also includes voice and screen prompts, offering real-time status updates for ease of operation.
Dreame H12 Dual vacuum cleaner: Vacuum and mopping performance
As mentioned, the vacuum cleaner is pretty ergonomically designed. It has a 300W brushless motor, which is powerful enough for a vacuum cleaner. Let’s dig a little deeper into the cleaning performance and overall quality.
For starters, the motorised brush does the job pretty well, it moves the entire H12 Dual body automatically which makes it easier to monuver around the house even with single hand and the extended handle makes it easier to grip and navigate – turn and twist – around the corners, tough to reach spots, etc. The well-balanced design makes it even easier and adds to the convenience.
One thing that I noticed is that the overall size of the motorised brush is tall, and there are some places in the house where it can’t reach. So, if your house has a very narrow area, such as at the bottom of the TV cabinet, this can be a problem. But for most part of it, the design of H12 Dual works. Places like under the bed, cabinet, sofa, etc can be cleaned easily.
The roller brush spans edge to edge, and that design choice pays off in daily cleaning. Dirt close to the walls, often missed by traditional rollers, is picked up fairly well here and that’s a commendable job from H12 Dual.
During use, the vacuum’s automatic traction stands out. It glides forward with minimal effort, and while that takes a bit of getting used to, it ends up making cleaning less tiring. In wet mode, the machine adjusts power automatically based on how dirty the floor is. There’s also a dedicated Suction mode that does a decent job of picking up minor spills, though heavier dirts may need multiple passes.
Dry cleaning requires switching to the detachable handheld unit, which connects to supplied accessories like the crevice tool and motorised brush. This side of the machine is surprisingly capable—good for corners, furniture edges, and smaller areas where the main unit can’t reach. Turbo mode is a welcome addition here for thicker dust or pet hair. But, do keep in mind that it consumes far more battery than the regular mode.
Once you are done with the mopping and cleaning, placing it back in the dock station automatically starts charging it and also cleans and dries the mop. But, it is very loud and takes a while to get the job done, and I am not complaining as it does bot cleaning and drying for the mop, so you always have a clean and dry mop for next use. In case you are in a hurry, Dreame’s decision to include an extra roller and HEPA filter is thoughtful here. You can simply replace and use it again. Or, keep the extra as the replacement – the choice is yours.
I also checked for the replacement part prices and they are fairly priced for a vacuum cleaner of this price. However, the lifespan of these rollers should be long enough to justify the price. The only thing you may need to buy is the cleaning liquid.
Dreame H12 Dual
Battery life
The Dreame H12 Dual houses a 6-cell 4000mAh battery setup, offering up to 35 minutes of runtime in wet mode and around 60 minutes in dry mode. In regular use, it easily covers a 2BHK flat on a single charge. But, if you have a bigger house, you might need to recharge once if you are looking at both wet and dry cleaning the entire house.
Verdict
If you’re someone who wants minimal effort and maximum efficiency—like I do—the Dreame H12 Dual hits the sweet spot. It cleans and mops well, is balanced in hand, and doesn’t demand a learning curve. The inclusion of spare parts and a well-designed charging dock makes the whole experience even smoother. Whether it’s floor spills or dusty corners, the H12 Dual manages most tasks without fuss, making it a solid pick for lazy cleaners who still want tidy results. Yes, a longer battery life would have been much appreciated here, or even a replaceable battery could have solved the problem. But, if you can live with the 35 minutes of battery life, then it is a good buy for daily cleaning needs.
