Chinese robotics company Unitree has unveiled a $16,000 humanoid robot which is designed for applications across industries such as manufacturing, logistics, services and healthcare.

The G1, which was revealed on August 19, has been enhanced for better performance and is on the verge of mass production, Unitree said.

The robotics company said the G1 is equipped with advanced features, making it highly adaptable for various tasks.

It has 3-finger hands that can handle delicate tasks, 23 points of movement, and high-tech sensors. The design allows it to lift and move objects with a strength of up to 120 N.m, making it useful for precise jobs like assembling parts or working in labs.

The company said with a moving speed of 2 meters a second, the G1 “demonstrates exceptional handling” and maneuverability. Its 23 degrees of freedom provide a broad range of movement capabilities.
