Canon has introduced the EOS R50 V in India, marking the debut of its EOS V-series designed for video creators. Alongside the camera, Canon has also launched the RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ, its first RF lens with a built-in power zoom. The EOS R50 V is aimed at content creators, offering video-centric features and livestreaming capabilities.

The EOS R50 V is built for video production, featuring a compact design without a viewfinder to support lightweight grips and gimbals. The camera includes a vertical shooting tripod socket and a redesigned button layout, optimizing it for handheld and vertical content creation. It uses Canon’s RF mount, supporting over 45 lenses, and houses a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor.

For video recording, the EOS R50 V supports uncropped 4K 30p, cropped 4K 60p, and Full HD 100p/120p with audio. It also includes Canon Log 3 for better color grading in post-production. A new Cinema View mode adjusts frame rates and angles for a film-like output. Features such as false color and zebra patterns assist in professional-level exposure control.

The camera also enhances livestreaming with a dedicated button and multiple streaming options, including USB-C, HDMI, and wireless connections. It supports cropped 4K 60p livestreaming and allows multi-angle streaming via Canon’s Live Switcher Mobile app.

The RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens is Canon’s first RF lens with built-in power zoom. It offers 15 zoom speeds and remote zoom control via the Canon Camera Connect app. The lens provides up to 5 stops of built-in image stabilization for stills and 5-axis stabilization for video, improving handheld shooting.
