America’s largest real-time health information network, Availity, has announced an expansion of its India Global Capability Centre (GCC) on August 21 with the opening of a 54,000 sq ft facility in Bengaluru.

The expanded GCC is a step towards the company’s commitment to make India a co-headquarter, as the local staff is projected to grow to nearly 800 by the end of 2026 as compared to 90 in 2023.

“Healthcare delivery is complex, but Availity’s India GCC helps simplify it by engineering secure, scalable technology solutions that reduce friction across the healthcare ecosystem,” said Vybhava Srinivasan, Managing Director of Availity India. “This new facility reflects our long-term vision for Availity India as a core contributor to our global capabilities.”

A GCC is a captive unit set up by a company to carry out information technology (IT) and related business functions.

Availity’s India expansion has contributed to a 66 percent improvement in efficiency for the company, reducing the cost of customer interactions from $12.50 to $4.50 over the past two years, as a result of combining technology with a global workforce.

The Bengaluru GCC will support a full-fledged innovation hub, taking on responsibilities across technology, product development, operations, and corporate services. In addition, the captive centre will also drive cybersecurity, cloud engineering and data analytics initiatives.

Sean Keneally, the Chief Operating Officer at Availity said the expansion strengthens the company’s cloud-first platform and AI-driven solutions. “As the healthcare industry evolves, our ability to tap into global talent and bring new capabilities to market faster is more critical than ever,” Keneally said.

Availity’s India team has already contributed significantly to global product innovation, including building digital correspondence solutions and driving AI adoption through its acquisition of Auth.AI, which reduces US healthcare authorisation approvals from 30 days to just 90 seconds.

Given India’s rich talent pool, Availity said it is expanding its hiring to include both experienced professionals and fresh engineering graduates with an emphasis on curiosity, problem-solving and innovation.
