Apple has suspended operations at its corporate offices and five retail locations across the United Arab Emirates following a sharp rise in regional tensions over the weekend.
The closures began Saturday, February 28, at 3 pm, affecting key Apple Store locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain.
The move comes in response to updated guidance from the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Authorities advised private-sector companies to reduce employee presence in open areas, except for essential roles requiring physical attendance, and to adopt remote working arrangements wherever possible.
The advisory is intended as a precautionary safety measure and is currently recommended to remain in place for three days, from Sunday, March 1, through Tuesday, March 3. Officials indicated the timeline could change depending on how the situation develops.
The affected stores include Apple Al Maryah Island and Apple Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi; Apple Dubai Mall and Apple Mall of the Emirates in Dubai; and Apple Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain.
Apple has not publicly commented beyond implementing the temporary closures. The company’s decision reflects broader efforts by businesses in the region to prioritize employee and customer safety amid heightened uncertainty.
Operations are expected to resume once authorities signal that normal working conditions can safely return.
