As we approach Amazon’s Prime Day sale, the shopping website is gearing up to launch a host of new devices. Expanding its Alexa-enabled smart device portfolio, Amazon has launched its new Echo Spot smart alarm clock, which is Alexa-supported and can double up as a smart speaker.
The Echo Spot has a semi-spherical design with a front-firing speaker beneath. The upper half hasa tinted glass with a 2.83-inch touchscreen. It’s the second device in Amazon’s Echo Spot lineup after the first device was launched in 2017. However, the new Echo Spot comes without a camera.
It can be used to show weather updates, play songs, and can be also be used to control other smart devices.To match the aesthetics of your room or workplace, the Echo Spot is available in six different colour options such as orange, violet, magenta, lime, teal, and blue.
Amazon has also added the ability to set up custom alarm sounds or choose from the pre-set of Aurora, Daybreak, Endeavor, and Flutter sounds. Additionally, the Echo Spot alarm can be turned off or set to snooze with a simple tap like normal alarm clocks.
It also has Alexa support and you can ask the virtual assistant to perform a quick action with custom voice prompts. The Echo Spot has been launched with a price tag of $79.99 (Rs 6,6700). However, Prime members can purchase the device for $45 (Rs 3,750) during the Prime Day sale, which starts on July 16. Amazon has not shared its release plans in India.
