Paris Olympics Day 2 Live Updates: India's swimming campaign at the Paris Olympics. Both Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu fail to progress to the semifinals of their respective events.

Nataraj finished joint-second in the slower heat with a timing of 55.01s but the 23-year-old was 33rd in the overall standing for the 100m men's backstroke event. The 16 fastest swimmers from the heats qualify to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, 14-year-old Dhinidhi, the youngest member of the Indian contingent, did well to top her 200m women's freestyle heat. Swimming in heat 1, which is the slowest heat, Dhinidhi touched the pads at 2:06.96. But the Indian finished 23rd out of 30 participants, which included three-time Olympic champion Australia's Ariarne Titmus.

Monaco's Antognelli Quentin finished first with a timing of 7:10:00.

The top two qualify for the quarterfinal from repechage round.

Paris Olympics shooting Day 2 Live Updates: Elavenil Valarivan, who dominated the earlier stages of 10m air rifle women's qualification, slipped down and failed to qualify for the medal match. She accumulated a total of 630.7 points (105.8, 106.1, 104.4, 105.3, 105.3, 103.8).

Ramita, on the other hand, have qualified. She started slow but picked up the momentum when it was required the most. She finishes 5th and the top 8 qualify for the medal match. He total score was 631.5 (104.3, 106.0, 104.9, 105.3, 105.3, 105.7).

South Korea's Hyojin Ban topped the qualification with 634.5 points, which is a new Olympic Qualification Record.

Lakshya Sen, and the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty dominated their match, the women's double pair of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa struggled. Manu Bhaker, on the other hand, was the shining star in shooting, which otherwise was pretty disappointing.
