Shubman Gill expresses grief on Delhi blast: ‘My thoughts are with everyone impacted’

The relatives of those murdered in a car explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi on Monday night will receive an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh, as announced by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

Shubman Gill, the captain of the Indian Test and ODI teams, expressed sorrow over the car explosion that occurred close to the Red Fort metro station in the country's capital. Eight persons were killed and numerous others were injured on Monday night when the explosion tore through a slow-moving car to the Subhash Marg traffic light near the Red Fort.

Taking to X, Gill wrote, "Disturbed by the distressing events at the Red Fort. My thoughts are with everyone impacted. Hoping for peace, safety, and strength for all. "


The relatives of those murdered in a car explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi on Monday night will receive an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh, as announced by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Permanently disabled people will receive Rs 5 lakh, while critically injured people will receive Rs 5 lakh.

CM Rekha Gupta stated in a statement on X that the horrific event in Delhi has "left the entire city in shock".

"In this hour of difficulty, the Government of Delhi extends its deepest condolences to all those families who have lost their loved ones and to those who have been injured in this incident," she went on to add in her post.

She emphasized that the Delhi government has taken a compassionate decision for immediate relief and that the administration firmly supports all impacted families.

"Our government will take responsibility for the proper and quality treatment of the injured. Peace and security in Delhi is our utmost priority," Delhi CM said.

Delhi CM stated that the administration is "working with full vigilance" and supports all impacted people and their families.

According to sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked the National inquiry Agency, which is looking into the Delhi bomb case, to submit its inquiry report as soon as possible.

The NIA will formally take over the investigation from the Delhi Police and look into every facet of the case, including potential terror connections and the materials used in the bomb. The Center's intention to guarantee a thorough and well-coordinated investigation into the occurrence is demonstrated by the case's transfer to the NIA.
