Scott Boland has been one of the shining lights of the Australian side during the Ashes and as a result, he has appeared as one of the most potent bowlers from their camp. With a total of 27 wickets, Mitchell Starc is the only player who has been able to get more dismissals than Boland, who is in second place with 18 wickets. Boland, however, has been consistently highlighted as the most dependable and impactful player even though he has been working in tandem with a strong pace attack consisting of Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and captain Pat Cummins.
The 36-year-old has made a significant impact every time he has been on the field since his debut in Test cricket. In the 17 Tests he has been a part of Boland has on numerous occasions been the difference between the teams, and as a result, he has been applauded by many for his discipline and effectiveness.

During an interview with Grasscricket, Boland was requested to identify the most difficult batsman he had ever bowled to. Quite unexpectedly, he did not refer to the top Indian batsmen like Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma. On the contrary, he pointed to another Indian cricketer only.
"Rishabh Pant from India," Boland said. "He's someone who's very unpredictable. Sometimes he slogs you for six, and then you bowl the same ball, and he blocks it. So, he is very hard to bowl to."
In 15 matches Boland has grabbed 66 wickets at an exceptional average of 16. 94. His best figures in an innings stand at 6/7. Two of his five, wicket hauls and one ten, wicket match haul can be found amongst his records. Moreover, he has attained an average of 13. 47 for 10 quiet Tests with 53 wickets, where all his five, and ten, wicket hauls have been in Australia.
