Mohammad Kaif took note of Jasprit Bumrah's cold response to his recent observation on the pacer. In a post on Thursday, Kaif had drew an interesting analogy on Bumrah and his bowling pattern under Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy.
“Bumrah under Rohit would generally bowl overs 1, 13, 17, 19. Under Surya, in Asia cup, he bowled a three-overs spell at the start. To avoid injury, Bumrah these days, prefers to bowl while his body is warmed up. 1 over of Bumrah in the remaining 14 overs is a huge relief for batters, against stronger teams at World Cup, this could hurt India," Kaif wrote on X.
Hours later, Bumrah, who usually avoids confrontation, responded to Kaif's observation, taking a brutal swipe at the 2002 NatWest final hero. "Inaccurate before inaccurate again" - he responded on X.

Kaif on Friday reverted to Bumrah's jibe and asked the premier pacer to take it as a "cricketing observation from a well-wisher" before calling him Indian cricket's "biggest match-winner".
"Please take this as a cricketing observation from a well-wisher and an admirer. You are Indian cricket's biggest match-winner and I know what it takes to give it all when on field wearing India colours," he wrote on X.

During the England tour earlier this year, Kaif had dropped an explosive assessment on Bumrah's fitness, stating that the pacer might announce retirement from Tests.
“Jasprit Bumrah, I don't think you will see him playing in the upcoming Test matches. And he might even take retirement. He is struggling with his body. His body has totally given up. His speeds have been on the lower side in the Manchester Test. There is no speed in this Test match,” said Kaif in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Kaif had made the observation during India's fourth Test in Manchester, during which the pacer faced criticism from a section of people over a significant reduction in his pace.
