Kuldeep Yadav gets engaged to childhood friend before leaving for England for national duties

Team India spinner Kuldeep Yadav embarked on a new chapter in his life shortly after the conclusion of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) as he got engaged to his childhood friend Vanshika in Lucknow. It was a private ceremony, graced by family members and close friends. Kolkata Knight Riders star Rinku Singh was among the cricketers who attended the ceremony. Meanwhile, Vanshika hails from Shyam Nagar in Lucknow and works with the LIC. The friendship between the couple dates back to their early childhood, which blossomed into love.

Kuldeep, who plays for Delhi Capitals (DC), finished as their leading wicket-taker, registering 15 scalps from 14 matches. Capitals, on the other hand, finished fifth in the competition.

After fulfilling his IPL duties, Kuldeep will be leaving for England, where India are scheduled to play a five-match Test series, starting from June 20. The series marks a brand new edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) as the team underwent a massive transition following the retirements of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The Indian unit will be led by Shubman Gill in England shores.

Kuldeep Yadav is regarded as a potential replacement for Ashwin in the Test setup and it'll be interesting to see how the Chinaman spinner fills the big boots of the carrom ball specialist. Kuldeep's success and experience in white-ball cricket, along with his impressive Test record, makes him a serious candidate for Ashwin's place. However, other spinners like Washington Sundar and Axar Patel are also in fray to cement their spot in India's red-ball setup.

Kuldeep made his breakthrough as a youngster under Virat Kohli's captaincy but his career took a turn for the better after Rohit Sharma was appointed captain. After their retirements, Kuldeep finds himself among the Indian team's more seasoned players. And he is also among the few players named in India's squad for the tour, who have visited the nation previously.
