Ishan Kishan made a sensational debut with new franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in IPL 2025 on Sunday. Playing his first match in SRH colours, the southpaw hammered an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls against Rajasthan Royals (RR), an innings laced with 11 fours and 6 sixes.

His effort helped SRH post a gigantic 286/6 in 20 overs after being asked to bat by Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag. This in fact is the second-highest team total in the history of the tournament. SRH also hold the record for the highest IPL team total, which is 287/3 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the previous edition. This was also the fourth time when SRH have zoomed past the 250-mark in T20s.

Meanwhile,  Ishan Kishan became the first Indian to score a century for SRH. Speaking to the broadcasters during the mid-innings break, the left-handed batter said: "Feels good, it was coming for a while. Wanted to get this last season but happy to get that first hundred. The team has put their faith in me, and I want to do my best for them. The captain has given us all a lot of freedom and confidence, hats off to the management.

"When Abhishek and Head started, they gave a lot of confidence to us batters in the dugout. The pitch was looking good and we were just trying to get them under pressure."

Meanwhile, Jofra Archer became the most expensive bowler in terms of leaking runs in IPL's history. The speedster was ripped apart, particularly by Kishan, as he conceded 76 runs in his full quota of overs and failed to register a single scalp.
