GT vs LSG Highlights, IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans (GT) maintained their top spot despite going down to already-eliminated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Chasing a stiff 236-run victory target, GT managed 202/9 in their 20 overs. LSG have now defeated GT for the third time in a row, including both games this season.

Mitchell Marsh’s maiden IPL hundred:

With 560* runs, Mitchell Marsh is the highest run-getter for LSG this season. The Aussie slammed his maiden IPL hundred against GT to power his team to 235/2. Marsh reached the milestone off 56 balls in the 17th over with a single off Arshad Khan. Understandably, there was no extravagant celebration from Marsh and he just smiled and raised his bat towards the LSG dugout followed with a thumbs up. Marsh scored 117 off 64 balls smashing 8 sixes and 10 fours in his knock.

Pooran power leads LSG run charge:

Nicholas Pooran has been one of the bright spots in the otherwise disastrous LSG campaign and after Marsh, the West Indian is the second highest run scorer for his team this season. Pooran reached his fifty off 23 balls and this was the fifth instance that he had hit a half-century in 25 or fewer balls in a season. Pooran smashed 5 sixes and 4 fours in his unbeaten 27-ball 56 to power LSG to 235/2 in their 20 overs.

GT’s top order rare failure:

GT openers Sai Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill put up a fine 46-run opening stand. But such has been the performances of the top three GT batsmen that anything less than a fifty seems a failure. Sudharsan fell for a 16-ball 21, Gill was dismissed for a 20-ball 35 and Jos Buttler was sent back after a 18-ball 33. This was only the second instance this season that Sudharshan, Gill and Buttler fell for fewer than 50 runs in the same game.

William ORourke’s three-wicket haul:

Young Kiwi pacer William ORourke gave a good account of himself by snapping three crucial GT wickets. ORourke struck in his first over to dismiss Sudharsan and then got rid of Sherfane Rutherford and Rahul Tewatia in his last over to rattle the GT run chase. ORourke finished with 4-0-27-3 to be the pick of the LSG bowlers.

Shahrukh Khan’s valiant knock:

With his team chasing a stiff 236-run target, Shahrukh Khan led the GT run charge with his second IPL fifty, getting to the mark off 22 balls. But Shahrukh failed to take his team over the line even though he smashed 3 sixes and 5 fours in his 29-ball 57, falling in the penultimate over.
