Sunrisers dominate with record score

Sunrisers Hyderabad secured an impressive victory, defeating Delhi Capitals by 67 runs and climbing from fourth to second place in the standings. Sunrisers set a new record by posting a total of 266/7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Travis Head led the Sunrisers with a spectacular 89 off 32 balls, while Shahbaz Ahmed added an unbeaten 59 off 29 deliveries. Abhishek Sharma contributed a rapid 46 off 12 balls, helping Sunrisers reach their high total.

Delhi faced the challenging task of chasing 267 runs and started strongly with Prithvi Shaw and David Warner. Jake Fraser-McGurk made an impact by setting an IPL record with the fastest fifty for his franchise in just 15 balls, scoring 65 runs off 18 deliveries. Abishek Porel also maintained the momentum with 42 runs, but Delhi's innings slowed down after Porel's departure.

Tristan Stubbs and Rishabh Pant struggled to maintain the required run rate, with Pant's lack of form hindering Delhi's chase and resulting in defeat. This setback halted Delhi's progress after two consecutive wins.

Head's quick 89 helped Sunrisers reach 100 runs in just five overs, setting the quickest team hundred in Indian T20 League history. Sunrisers also set a record with 125 runs in the Powerplay.
