The furious altercation between Prithvi Shaw and Musheer Khan during the three-day Mumbai vs Maharashtra warm-up match is set to be investigated by legendary Indian cricketer Dilip Vengasarkar. Shaw got into a heated argument with Musheer Khan on the first day of the match after the off-spinner dismissed him.
Shaw was holed out at deep fine leg after attempting a sweep shot but failing to time it. A heated argument broke out between him and Musheer as he began to make his way back to the pavilion. When Shaw threw his bat toward his former teammates out of obvious frustration, the situation became heated. In order to prevent things from getting worse, the umpire intervened quickly.
Following the incident, Dilip Vengsarkar would address both players during the Mumbai Ranji Team selection committee, according to Mumbai Cricket Association secretary Abhay Hadap.

“There will be a [Mumbai Ranji team] selection committee meeting on Thursday, so we will ask them - the Mumbai captain, coach and the player - about what happened. We will be getting a report [of this incident] during our selection committee meeting, and former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar, who is our Advisor, will speak to them [players],” Mumbai Cricket Association secretary Abhay Hadap told Mid-day.
Additionally, Kamlesh Pisal of the Maharashtra Cricket Association said that they will look into the matter and emphasize how crucial player discipline is.
"I'm still awaiting the report [on the incident]. I will be obtaining detailed information [about the incident] and if something is found, depending on the gravity of the situation and considering the importance of discipline, we will speak to both the players [Shaw and Musheer]. Discipline among players is a very important aspect," Adv Kamlesh Pisal, secretary of the Maharashtra Cricket Association, told Mid-day.
Shaw, who recently relocated to Maharashtra from Mumbai after playing for his home team for eight years, hit a magnificent knock on Day 1 of the match. Shaw, who has been trying to resurrect his career after a difficult few years, appeared intent on making an impression. He reminded everyone of the fluid stroke play that had made him one of Indian cricket's most promising prospects with a dominant innings of 181 off 219 deliveries.
