Although there is strong optimism about Suryakumar’s participation, his inclusion will ultimately hinge on medical clearance closer to the tournament. Prioritising his recovery, he opted out of the 2025 Duleep Trophy to focus on strength training, mobility drills, and regaining match fitness at the NCA in Bengaluru. In case he fails to recover in time, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, or Sanju Samson could step in as captain, though the team management remains hopeful he will be fit to lead.
