A stunning picture of a quasar or a 'jewelled ring' is snapped by the James Webb Telescope MIRI (Mid-Infrared Instrument). This image is of a quasar named RX J1131-1231 that is located around 6 billion light years away from Earth.

This phenomenon occurred due to gravitational lensing which predicts by Einstein in past. The nearby galaxy wraps the light of the quasar which is an extremely bright object of interstellar space.

This quasar created an arc that led to the formation of the ring. The quasar is powered by supermassive black holes, dust and gas which result in it shining brightly.

The galaxy that is responsible for creating this phenomenon through the gravitational lens can be seen in the image in a blue bot in the middle along with three dots above. It is considered one of the best-lensed quasars till now.

Gravitational lensing is a wonderful phenomenon that will help astronomers to know the distance celestial objects present in interstellar space.

In the process of gravitational lensing the light that is coming from distant sources such as a galaxy or a quasar gets bent and amplified by the gravitational field of a massive object, like a galaxy cluster, positioned between the light source and the observer.

Likewise, the study on the quasar RX J1131-1231 will help the scientist in getting the crucial clues about the nature of the black hole its growth and evolution.

It appears from observations that RX J1131-1231 has developed mostly by mergers with other black holes, not by accreting material from different sources.

This discovery creates new opportunities for researching the characteristics and actions of these cosmic giants while also highlighting the harsh physical circumstances that surround black holes.
