Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: After a five-year pause, the revered Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is all set to resume on June 30, 2025, marking a significant spiritual and cultural revival. The pilgrimage, suspended since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will once again allow devotees to undertake the sacred journey through Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, located at an altitude of 17,000 feet.

Official Announcement and Organisers

According to an official statement released on Monday, the yatra’s resumption has been made possible through the combined efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. A planning meeting was held in New Delhi, jointly organised by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Uttarakhand government, during which Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) was assigned the responsibility of organising the pilgrimage.

Religious Significance of Kailash Mansarovar

Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, located in Tibet under Chinese administration, hold immense spiritual importance. For Hindus, Mount Kailash is considered the abode of Lord Shiva, and performing the parikrama (circumambulation) of the mountain along with a ritual bath in Lake Manasarovar is believed to cleanse sins and lead the soul to moksha (liberation).

The revival of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is not just a spiritual milestone but also a testament to cultural continuity and diplomatic coordination. As preparations begin, pilgrims and spiritual seekers can once again look forward to experiencing the divine journey amidst the majestic Himalayas.
