Fashion took center stage at Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20 with First Lady Melania Trump, Second Lady Usha Vance turning heads in custom ensembles.
Melania Trump is known for her extravagant tastes. According to a report by BBC, Melania chose New York designer Adam Lippes and a coordinating hat by Eric Javits.
"This was just such a spectacular use of signalling and blending Palm Beach and DC with international global fashion aesthetic, while understanding the traditional and political power that is also necessary for your look to communicate," celebrity stylist Lauren Rothman told BBC.
For much of the day, the hat obscured Melania Trump's eyes for most viewers. The First Lady, who rarely attended Trump's campaign events last year, also wore a double-breasted navy mid-length jacket.

Second lady Usha Vance embraced a soft and sophisticated look on inauguration day. She stepped out in a custom-designed, soft pink cashmere coat with a coordinating scarf wrap and a tea-length dress, all by Oscar de la Renta.
