During the Lok Sabha session on July 1, Speaker Om Birla addressed the ongoing controversy regarding the alleged switching off of microphones for MPs. He lambasted the Opposition and said that the speaker has no control over the mic. Birla was reacting to Rahul Gandhi who had raised the issue on the floor of the house.
