In a joint operation by Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police, three pro-Khalistan terrorists were killed in an encounter in Pilibhit district. The suspects, identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), were from Gurdaspur. The encounter occurred in the Puranpur area after Punjab police informed Pilibhit police about terrorists hiding there, linked to a previous attack on a police outpost. The police chased the suspects, who opened fire, leading to a gunfight. The suspects were injured and later declared dead at the hospital. Authorities recovered two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and significant ammunition from the scene. The terrorists were found to have connections with a foreign terrorist group. The incident followed a grenade attack at a police post in Gurdaspur on December 19, claimed by Khalistan Zindabad Force. No casualties or property damage occurred in the explosion.
