The Karnataka High Court has dismissed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's petition challenging Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot's decision to sanction his prosecution in the MUDA land case. Justice M. Nagaprasanna’s bench ruled that the Governor acted independently and had thoroughly considered the matter, finding no fault in his decision. The case centres on allegations that Siddaramaiah’s wife benefited from a questionable land exchange in Mysuru. The court stated that the allegations warranted investigation, as Siddaramaiah’s family was the beneficiary. The ruling is expected to increase pressure on Siddaramaiah and bolster the Opposition BJP’s calls for his resignation.
