A woman named Jasmita Pati took to X to share her dissatisfactory experience while travelling in the second AC compartment of the Bhubaneshwar-Junagarh Express on March 17. Sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pati expressed her shock and highlighted the “appalling” cleanliness conditions on the train. Her complaint also prompted a response from the Indian Railway.
Pati took to the microblogging site to share a video of a rat scurrying around in the compartment. In another clip, she showed the “appalling cleanliness conditions” and dust on the mirror in the compartment.
In the tweet addressed to RailwayMinister Ashwini Vaishnaw, she wrote, “Shocked by the sight of rats scurrying around and the appalling cleanliness conditions on this train ride. Something urgently needs to be done to address this issue.”

Her tweet swiftly gained the attention of Railway Seva, the official account for support for rail passengers, who reacted in just three minutes of the complaint. “Please share your PNR number and mobile no. preferably via DM to enable us to take immediate action,” the department wrote.
