Imagine going about your daily routine when you suddenly find your bathroom teeming with snakes. This was the reality for a resident of Nagaon district, Assam, where an astonishing 35 snakes were discovered in their home.

News agency ANI shared a jaw-dropping video of the slithery intruders. The post stated, "Around 35 snakes were found in a house in the Kaliabor area of Assam's Nagaon district. The snakes were recovered by Sanjib Deka, an animal lover."

The video began with a close-up shot of several snakes coiled under a large rock. The next scene showed the serpents collected in a bucket. As the clip progressed, it captured the snakes emerging from under the rock and slithering out into the open.

Sanjib Deka, the rescuer, recounted his experience to ANI: "The house owner informed me about the presence of snakes, and I reached the spot immediately. I found numerous snakes crawling around. I recovered around 35 snakes from a newly constructed toilet in the house. I later released them in the Joisagar Dalani area."

Thanks to Deka's quick response, the house is now snake-free, and the serpents have been safely relocated.

Meanwhile, a fossil discovered in 2005 in Gujarat was identified as one of the largest snakes to ever slither on Earth in April. Named "Vasuki indicus" by researchers, this colossal serpent lived approximately 47 million years ago in the marshy swamps of Kutch.

A recent study published in Science Reports reveals that the Vasuki indicus measured between 36 to nearly 50 feet in length. This extraordinary size potentially surpasses that of the now-extinct Titanoboa, previously known as the largest snake, which measured 42 feet. Researchers estimate that Vasuki indicus might have weighed as much as 1 tonne, or 1,000 kilograms.

For comparison, the largest living snake today is Asia’s reticulated python, which reaches up to 33 feet.
