Vir Das is on cloud nine right now. The stand-up comic and actor won an International Emmy in the best comedy series for his Netflix special “Vir Das Landing”. In addition to that, he is performing all over India for his “Mindfool” tour and had quite a successful show in Bengaluru even after a technical glitch.
According to a post by a dentist named Manavi Raj, the comedian’s 5 pm show in Bengaluru experienced a technical snag. However, he made sure it got fixed and continued with the show nonetheless.
“Please please go watch @thevirdas live if he's performing in your city! Whatta masterpiece of a show! Probably the best I have attended so far! Deserves all the Emmys! The Bangalore 5pm show started with a technical glitch but he made sure it was fixed and the show goes on!” Raj wrote.

Another user who goes by the name Jim Roberts on X hailed Das for not walking out on the audience and even compared the situation to when US comedian Trevor Noah was in the city. For the unversed, Noah cancelled two of his shows in Bengaluru that were supposed to be held at the Manpho Conventional Centre in Manyata Tech Park due to technical glitches.
“Thank you Vir Das for not walking out on the audience. It would've been very easy to just walk out like Trevor Noah. It takes dedication and effort to get it right, getting additional monitors, sound testing and going the extra mile. Thank you @thevirdas. You’re one of a kind,” Roberts wrote.
India. We get the job done, we may grumble, and it may take a second, but we give our all to get there. There’s no bailing on anything https://t.co/kbEgFc2d9A— Vir Das (@thevirdas) November 24, 2023
To which Das replied, “India. We get the job done, we may grumble, and it may take a second, but we give our all to get there. There’s no bailing on anything.”
Das also shared a video of thanking the warm welcome by the Bengaluru audience. “Bengaluru! You have my whole entire heart. Thank you for showing up for me,” he wrote.

What happened last year
Meanwhile, the “Delhi Belly” actor had to cancel a show supposed to happen in Bengaluru last year. He shared a video titled, “Get Up Again” that featured the comedian’s dejected state of mind last year and the thundering applause that he got by Bengaluru residents this year.
The show was scheduled for November 11, 2022 and was slashed because of a police complaint filed by a right-wing organisation. The group alleged that Das insults the Hindu religion.
