Salt Bae slammed after charging $108,000 from diners: 'Money comes money goes'

Celebrity chef Salt Bae came under the spotlight for the wrong reasons after sharing a receipt of $108,500 (approximately Rs 90.2lakh) for a single meal at Nusr-Et Steakhouse situated at the Four Seasons resort in Dubai last week.

The 40-year-old chef shared a photo with the receipt on his Instagram page and captioned the post, saying, "Money Comes Money Goes". In the receipt, the diners had ordered for baklava, beef carpaccio, fruit, french fries and salad.

The diners also ordered two bottles of Chateau Petrus 2009 ($53,900), one bottle of Petrus 2011 ($17,700), five double glasses of the exclusive Louis XIII cognac neat ($7,500) and four porn star martinis ($130).

Additionally, the diners also had gold-covered meat which included three stakes and one filet mignon and also paid a tip of $24,500.

The post saw a lot of negative comments from users, some of whom were critical of the food served at the restaurant. A few others criticised the amount of money spent on the food.

"Most overrated and overpriced restaurant," one user wrote.

"Imagine being this wealthy and blowing it on food that isn't worth it," another user wrote.

"Bro could’ve fed the whole Gaza Strip for a month with that money on food," a third user wrote.

"Sorry , such a waste of money, it would be nicer if at least 50% goes to charity ,Yemen, Gaza etc," a fourth user wrote.
