After Raymond Group chairman and managing director Gautam Singhania announced his split with his wife Nawaz Modi Singhania on Monday, a video surfaced on social media in which Nawaz Modi Singhania says that she was stopped from entering their property in Thane to attend a Diwali party organised by her husband last week.
The 53-year-old fitness coach and author alleged that a "strongman"- stopped her at the gates of JK Gram, refusing to let her in, although she was "invited" for it, Free Press Journal reported.
"We are at the Thane gate, JK Gram, for a party that I was invited to and now I am stopped from entering. The strongman, Chandrakant here, who handles the cops and everyone else, and the rest of the gate people are stopping me at the gate," Nawaz Modi Singhania said in the now-viral video. "This (the video) is going to now viral with everything that I have been through and kept quiet about all of this time."

As more visuals surfaced, Nawaz Modi Singhania was seen sitting with a walking stick at the gate of their property in Thane when refused entry. She is, however, yet to comment on the separation announced by her billionaire husband.
The daughter of a well-known lawyer, Nawaz Modi Singhania also studied law but opened a gym in a tony neighbourhood. She was reported to have dated the Raymond boss for eight years before the marriage in 1999.
'This Diwali is not going to be the same'Gautam Singhania and Nawaz Modi Singhania had been together for 32 years and have two children -- Niharika and Nisa. In a statement, the Raymond boss said that although they were parting ways, he and his now-estranged wife have always been a source of strength to each other.
"This Diwali is not going to be the same as many in the past," he wrote on X. "It is my belief that Nawaz and I will pursue different paths from here on..."
In his note, Gautam Singhania also mentioned certain "not so well-wishers" who were the source of rumours and gossip surrounding the couple's lives. "As I reflect over the unfortunate developments in the recent past, there has been a lot of unsubstantiated rumour mongering, and gossip surrounding our lives fanned by 'not so well-wishers'," he said.
The 58-year-old went on to request his well-wishers for space as the couple settled their separation and sought best wishes for the entire family during this time.
