OnePlus 7 Pro receives an A+ DisplayMate rating

OnePlus has already confirmed the screens on its upcoming flagship handsets will feature a new standard in mobile display technology. The Chinese phone maker is set to launch the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and a possible OnePlus 5G variant at a series of events on May 14.

OnePlus is building up major hype around the display technology being used on its upcoming handsets. The latest news coming out of OnePlus’ camp comes in the form of an A+ rating from DisplayMate, a leading evaluator of smartphone displays.

According to the tweet by DisplayMate, the OnePlus Pro handset received an exceptional score in all tests. OnePlus claims the handset recorded incredible levels of brightness, contrast accuracy, pixel density and colour accuracy. The company further added that colour temperature and colour gamut could be adjusted for suitable screen calibration.

Apart from the excellent DisplayMate score, the OnePlus 7 Pro display also received ‘Safety for Eyes’ certification from VDE Testing and Certification Institute, which means it works better in filtering out harmful blue light.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau recently confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro’s display would feature groundbreaking technology and set a new standard in what to expect from a mobile display.

DisplayMate A+ grade displays are currently seen on high-end flagship handsets like the Galaxy S10, Pixel 3XL and iPhone XS Max. Replying to the tweet from DisplayMate, Pete Lau claims that the OnePlus 7 Pro could reach an A++ rating if DisplayMate had the rating. The OnePlus 7 Pro is also likely to get a 90Hz AMOLED panel, which falls in line with the "redefine fast and smooth" phrase the company is touting.
