Manisha Koirala, star of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's recent Netflix series "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar," had the distinguished honour of meeting UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at his official residence, 10 Downing Street. On Wednesday, Koirala took to Instagram to share a series of captivating photos from the event, which celebrated 100 years of of the friendship treaty between the UK and Nepal.
The actress, representing Nepal at this prestigious gathering, expressed her delight and surprise at discovering that many of the attendees had watched and appreciated "Heeramandi." Dressed elegantly in a black and golden saree, Koirala was seen in several candid moments with Prime Minister Sunak. She also took a solo photo in front of the iconic 10 Downing Street door.
In her heartfelt caption, Koirala wrote, "It was an honour to be invited to 10 Downing Street to celebrate the enduring relationship between the United Kingdom and Nepal, commemorating 100 years of our friendship treaty. Hearing Prime Minister @rishisunakmp speak so warmly about Nepal was a true pleasure. I even extended an invitation to the PM and his family to trek to Everest Base Camp. Can you believe that most of the attendees had watched and loved Heeramandi on Netflix? I was absolutely thrilled!"
Meanwhile, Koirala is currently riding high on the success of "Heeramandi". Apart from her, the period drama based on the lives of courtesans of Lahore before the partition, featured Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Sharmin Sehgal.
