In a tragic incident, a young couple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, died in less than 24 hours. While Abhishek Ahluwali, 25, died of a heart attack, his wife Anjali died by suicide in shock.

According to family members, Abhishek and Anjali tied the knot on November 30. He was visiting the Delhi zoo with some friends when he started experiencing chest pain. He was initially taken to Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital and later referred to the Safdarjung hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, he was declared dead later in the day. His cause of death was a heart attack, according to the doctors.

Abhishek’s body was taken to his home in Ghaziabad’s Ahlcon Apartments at around 9 pm. Unable to bear the shock after looking at her husband’s lifeless body, Anjali jumped from the seventh floor of the complex. She was rushed to Max Hospital in Vaishali with grave injuries. She succumbed to her injuries earlier on Tuesday.

Babita, a relative of Abhishek, recalled the incident and said, “After the body was brought home, she sat next to it, weeping. Then she suddenly got up and ran towards the balcony. I figured that she was going to jump. I ran after her, but before I could stop her, she had jumped,” according to a NDTV report.

Another relative, Sanjiv, who was there with Abhishek in Safdarjung said, “They told Abhishek's friends to take him to Safdarjung. I reached there too. I spoke to the doctor. He told me they tried their best, but could not save him.”

Abhishek’s untimely demise joins the long list of youngsters dying of heart attacks these days. In January, an 18-year-old student died of suspected cardiac arrest while he was attending a class at his coaching institute in Indore. A few days earlier, an engineer collapsed on the pitch while playing cricket in Noida. Vikas Negi, who was in his mid-30s, died before he could be given any treatment.
