Congratulatory messages poured in for the Kansas City Chiefs after the team won the Lombardy Trophy for the fourth time at the Super Bowl 2024. Kansas City Chiefs won 25-22 in overtime against the San Francisco 49 ers in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Among the thousands of wishes, it was Hillary Clinton’s that stood out the most and grabbed the most eyeballs. The former Secretary of State congratulated the Kansas City Chiefs and tight end player Travis Kelce in a viral post on X. Referring to Kelce as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Clinton wrote, “Congratulations to Taylor's boyfriend—and the entire Kansas City Chiefs community!”
For the unversed, pop icon Swift and Kelce started dating around September last year.

Needless to say, Clinton’s post sparked a frenzy on X and didn’t really go down well with a major section of the internet. Several social media users started referring to Clinton as “Bill Clinton’s wife” and others accused her of “disrespecting” the team.
“Hey Bill’s wife, did you enjoy the game?” one user questioned. Another user wrote, “He has a name.”
“Why would you objectify him as ‘Taylor’s boyfriend’? He has a name: Travis. Please answer, wife of Bill Clinton,” a third user commented.

Meanwhile, Swift and Kelce were captured exchanging a kiss and a warm hug after the latter and his team lifted the coveted trophy for the fourth time. The singer had jetted from Tokyo to Las Vegas to cheer for her boyfriend amid her ongoing mega-hit Eras tour.
Swift was seen with her parents as well as Kelce's parents and brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, in the gallery. Hollywood actor Blake Lively and American rapper Ice Spice were also seen in the box.
Singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey and music legend Paul McCartney were among the other celebrities who attended Super Bowl this year.
