A recent video showcasing thousands of cars moving at a snail's pace in Gurugram's Cyber Hub area has ignited a heated online discussion, drawing direct comparisons to Bengaluru's infamous traffic woes. The viral clip, posted to Instagram last week from Sector 24, depicts a seemingly endless line of vehicles crawling, despite multiple lanes, in both directions, stretching for over a kilometer.
The video, set to Atif Aslam's melancholic 'Aadat' song was captioned: "Ab fark nahi padta (It does not bother me anymore)."
Social media users were quick to react, sharing a mix of frustration, humor, and a grim acceptance of the situation. Instagram user Saurabh Dubey (@stan3sd) lamented, "Problem is people made this norm. No one's complaining to the government." Neha Malhotra (@nehamalhotra9) expressed nostalgia for a time when "this stretch used to be such an amazing one to drive, smooth silky roads and smooth traffic."
The comparison to Bengaluru was immediate, with Karteek S (@karteeksarasa) simply stating, "Who bark about Bengaluru." Hemant (@singhhem) clarified, "Don’t say Delhi NCR please. This is the misery specifically designed for people coming to and from Gurgaon." Some even offered radical solutions, with Abban Ahmad (@a.bun_ahmad) suggesting, "People from Delhi and Gurgaon should exchange their houses. No travelling to work. No traffic." The sheer exasperation was summed up by Mounika Rajuladevi (@mounika_rajuladevi) who wrote, "At this point I would rather walk."
The viral traffic scenes are exacerbated by Gurgaon's recent battle with intense rainfall. Over the last week, heavy downpours brought life to a standstill in the city. Last Wednesday night, a portion of a road dramatically collapsed, forming a crater that swallowed a truck. Miraculously, the truck driver survived with only minor injuries.
Another video making rounds on social media showcased a vehicle submerged more than halfway through flooded streets, ploughing through the waters, much to the astonishment of passersby and netizens, including industrialist Harsh Goenka. "When a Mahindra SUV combines with a good tyre (I’m sure you know which one I mean) it makes the impossible possible… see it to believe it!" he wrote, hinting at the company's Ceat tyres.

The flooding raised serious concerns among residents about the efficacy of the city’s drainage systems, despite repeated assurances from authorities that pre-monsoon preparations had been completed.
