A Flipkart customer has detailed his “nightmare” experience with the e-commerce platform in a post shared on X, claiming that he received a product different from the one he ordered. The customer, who goes only by the name Aryan on social media, said that he ordered a Sony TV from Flipkart on October 7. On October 10, he received a television set from Thomson instead.

More than two weeks and several complaints later, there is no resolution in sight for the harried Flipkart customer, who yesterday shared his ordeal on X.

In his post, the man said he ordered a Sony television set from Flipkart on October 7 and his order was delivered on October 10. However, when a Sony employee came to install the TV set on October 11 and opened the box, they were both shocked to find a Thomson TV inside. Moreover, the box did not have accessories like a remote control or TV stand.

The man said that he raised a complaint with Flipkart but more than two weeks later, his return request has still not been processed. The Flipkart team asked him to upload pictures of the incorrect product he received, which he did as instructed.

The team promised him a resolution date of October 24. However, on October 20, they marked his complaint as “resolved” – before extending the resolution date to November 1, the man claimed.

He said that he had been waiting for the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale to order a television set so he could watch the ICC World Cup, but Flipkart’s mismanagement and service has put him in “unbearable” stress.

When asked why he had not opened the box at the time of delivery, the man explained that Flipkart only provides open box for items delivered via Ekart. His television set was delivered by Delhivery, which does not provide an option to check products at the time of delivery.

Flipkart responded to the man’s viral post saying, “Our deepest apologies for your experience with the return request. We want to sort this out for you. Please drop us a DM with your order details so that they remain confidential here.”
