Republic of Turkey holds roadshow for Indian couples

Seeking to attract newly married couples, the Republic of Turkey is holding a five-city road show across India with a focus on 'Turkey's wedding, golf and honeymoon destinations'.

Seeking to attract newly-married couples, the Republic of Turkey is holding a five-city roadshow across India with a focus on 'Turkey's wedding, golf and honeymoon destinations'.

"Apart from locales for golf enthusiasts, the present road show will highlight matrimonial and honeymoon destinations for people seeking to enjoy their early days of marital bliss", Republic of Turkey's culture and tourism counsellor, Ozgur Ayturk said.

The event is being held in Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and New Delhi, he said,adding the Turkish Hoteliers Federation has also joined hands with the Turkish Tourism Board to promote this concept in the country. Information available from the tourism ministry website in 2010 the number of tourists from Turkey visiting India was 15,483 as against 10,282 the previous year.

Currently, Turkey exports iron, steel, copper, poppy seed, products of automotive and textile industry and coal to India, while it imports oils, pharmaceuticals, polyester, fibres and cotton, among others.
