"When it comes to job performance, your reputation often precedes you. That is, if you are known as a high performer, chances are people will perceive your work positively.It behooves you to build a strong reputation early on in a new job. The best way to do this is to be sure people -- your boss, your peers, and your subordinates -- know about your good work.Don't assume they notice; they are often consumed with their own jobs. Bring attention to your successes by sharing the results with others.You don't need to be self-promotional to do this.
