Countering former Aircel chief C Sivasankaran's charge on Monday, DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran said he never forced or arm-twisted the former Aircel chief to sell his business when he was the telecom minister.

Countering former Aircel chief's charge, Maran questioned why Sivsankaran didn't go to court.

"I will prove my innocence (on Aircel controversy)," claimed Maran.

"I am not going to react on any speculation. I want to get facts right before I speak as this is matter pertaining to last seven to eight years," said Dayanidhi Maran.

"No one can armtwist the Sivashankaran. Sivasankaran is a multi-billionare. No one can force him to sell stake. I have never forced anyone to do business with me, he could have gone to court," he added.

Sivasankaran alleged that Dayanidhi Maran had forced him to sell his stake in Aircel to Maxis when Maran was the telecom minister in 2001 and 2002, in his statement to the CBI.

Sivasankaran had deposed before the CBI earlier in May, giving out the details of how he was 'forced' to sell his stake in Aircel.
