Rangasamy announces pension scheme for senior journalists

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today announced that the government would soon implement pension scheme for senior journalists here.

"We always want Puducherry to distinguish itself from other states in taking care of the people and also the media persons" he told reporters on the occasion of National Press Day, organized by the Department of Information and Publicity of Puducherry government.

He said while reporting events or focusing schemes and programmes of the government, presspersons should ensure that they projected correct and accurate facts without causing embarrassment to any section.

He said sometimes inaccurate reports in the media had embarrassed the government. "Inaccurate reporting will dislocate the smooth working of the government and would also embarrass the people", he said. He said the government would always welcome constructive suggestions.
