Unlike their diesel or gasoline counterparts, these tractors produce zero emissions, reducing the carbon footprint of agriculture. International Tractors Limited (ITL) has introduced its latest innovation: the SV Series electric tractors.

These machines, a part of ITL's Solis brand, are designed to cater to international markets, including Europe, the United States, Africa, and South America and will soon be available in India.

Cruise control technology, which has long been a staple in the automotive industry, is now making its way into the agricultural sector. This allows users to experience a hassle-free driving experience; just set a speed and the tractor is good to go on its own. The tractors run without gears and an installed grill helps prevent accident.

Battery-powered tractors prove to be more cost-effective in the long run. Although the initial investment might be higher, the savings in fuel costs, maintenance, and reduced environmental impact make them an economically wise choice.

Charging the SV Series requires only 20 units of electricity, significantly more cost-effective than the 6 liters of diesel needed to operate a conventional tractor for the same duration. The Solis electric tractor is equipped with a powerful 26-horsepower hydraulic gearbox.

The SV Series is also suitable for a wide range of applications, including heavy-duty work in agricultural operations, construction sites, and goods logistics.

One of the underappreciated benefits of battery-powered tractors is their near-silent operation. Farmers and farmworkers no longer have to endure the deafening noise associated with traditional tractors.

Battery-powered tractors, being lighter, exert less pressure on the ground, mitigating soil compaction and preserving the long-term fertility of the soil.
