Most of the memes on ChatGPT being down were base don how the outage affected office work.

OpenAI's popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT, experienced a global outage on Tuesday, leaving users unable to access the service and sparking a wave of reactions across social media. OpenAI's official status page mentioned that they were investigating this problem but till the time services were resumed, hashtag "ChatGPTisdown" began to trend on X as users took to flooding the platform with memes and jokes on how the outage has affecting their lives.

Here are some of the funniest posts:

Reports on Downdetector surged dramatically, peaking at over 1,100 complaints shortly after 3pm .

The majority of reported issues, 93 percent, were directly related to ChatGPT, with a smaller percentage concerning the OpenAI app and login problems. The outage began around 2.45pm and hit its peak just after 3 pm.

The disruption comes right after ChatGPT reached a big milestone of getting 1 billion search requests a day, as per a report by Phone Arena. While that’s impressive on its own, what’s even more surprising is that it got there 5.5 times faster than Google did when it was starting out.
