It is absolutely chilly in several parts of the world right now. There have been severe weather warnings with dense fog and heavy snowfall at some places. The weather conditions have impacted travel and have restrained office-goers from reaching work.
Amid that, a boss in Portland, Oregon, went viral on TikTok after one of the employees made a video showing the great lengths he went to ensure that workers won’t be calling for a day off due to a snowstorm.
The clip shared by Amirraa Ruffin has clocked in over four million views, New York Post reported. “And I was hoping he would just let the store be closed for the day,” she said and showed herself along with a few of her colleagues standing in a snowy parking lot. “When everyone tried to call out but your boss drives and picks each of you up,” she wrote in the caption.
Ruffin also mentioned that the boss dropped everyone home as well. “Not even upset. I just respect the hustle,” the 21-year-old wrote.
Social media users were quick to react. One user wrote, “Mine did this once and we all got into an accident because of the ice.”
Another user commented, “I would respond with 'it's not the lack of transportation, I'm not putting my life on the line by travelling in these conditions for this wage’”.
“I remember calling out for a flat tire and my boss was on his way to pick me up. I in fact did NOT have a flat tire,” a third user recalled.
Meanwhile, the boss was also called “amazing” by a number of netizens for dropping the workers home that day.
