The infamous Annabelle doll, widely considered one of the most haunted objects on Earth, recently sparked widespread internet hysteria after rumors claimed she had mysteriously vanished. But, a lead investigator has now debunked the frenzy, confirming the iconic doll is safe.
Initial fears erupted when visitors at a recent tour stop of the US paranormal showcase “Devils on the Run” noticed Annabelle was seemingly absent from her display. Social media quickly exploded with speculation, conspiracy theories, and memes, all attempting to piece together what had happened to the artifact. The online panic escalated further after a fire broke out at the historic Nottoway Resort in White Castle, Louisiana, just days after Annabelle had been exhibited nearby, a timing many online commentators pointed to as an eerie coincidence despite authorities ruling out any paranormal link.
But contrary to the rampant speculation, the doll was never missing. In a TikTok video released Saturday, New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) lead investigator Dan Rivera directly addressed the rumours. "I’m here at the museum right now, and I just wanna show you guys that Annabelle is in the Warrens’ Occult Museum," Rivera stated, walking viewers through the museum to the 'haunted' doll, safely secured in its wooden case.
Rivera firmly reassured his followers: "Annabelle is not missing; she's not in Chicago." He clarified that the doll would be attending the 2025 Rock Island Roadhouse Esoteric Expo on October 4 in Rock Island, Illinois, confirming her secure status. NESPR further reinforced this message on its Facebook page, declaring: "It’s a rumour... Annabelle has NOT been stolen. The doll is safely in place at the Warren Occult Museum."
The museum is located at 30 Knollwood Drive, Monroe, Connecticut, and was established by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
